Join in on parks appreciation day

NEXT month, peninsula-area residents will have an opportunity to give back to the parks they enjoy so much during Parks Appreciation Day. Sponsored by the City of Gig Harbor, PenMet Parks, the Key Peninsula Metropolitan Park District and MetroParks Tacoma, families and individuals will be at more than 20 sites in the greater peninsula region from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19.

There couldn’t be a better way to take care of our recreational opportunities, so grab your garden gloves and tools, and get ready to spruce up our parks. Locations include Donkey Creek Park and Wilkinson Farm Park in Gig Harbor, Home Park and the Purdy Sand Spit on the Key Peninsula, and the Fox Island Pier and the Nichols Community Center — to name just a few.
