Hundreds of trick-or-treaters, big and small, scurried about the streets of downtown Gig Harbor on Saturday during the annual Trick or Treat in the Harbor event. But what made the event special was the organization and presentation by downtown merchants.
The City of Gig Harbor blocked off a section of downtown for a street fair-like atmosphere. And families responded by flocking to the area on foot, candy bags in hand and Halloween costumes on their faces.
It was a perfectly festive afternoon, and many other areas followed suit. Uptown Gig Harbor hosted its own trick-or-treat event, and the Key Peninsula Civic Center hosted a party in Vaughn.
It’s days like these that add to our small-town atmosphere, and community participation encourages business owners and the city to find more ways to engage the public.
