‘No’ vote will send school district message

July 9, 2014

I am sure that everyone in Pierce County received their new assessment for the year 2015. The News Tribune this week showed the average home increased 9.6 percent in value this year.

My increase was 15 percent over 2014 and this alone will be a windfall for the Peninsula School District in 2015. Why do we need to pass a bond and levy? If the levy passes, the school district will have more money to waste on new staff and a new school we don’t need. If you fail to vote no on the levy, you will be giving the school district more funds to waste on programs that will not improve learning outcomes.

Please vote no on Aug. 5 because if you fail to come out and vote, it will be the same as a yes vote for the bond and levy. The time has come to send the school board a message, Enough is enough!
