Reader mourns demise of cursive

June 11, 2014

Since our schools are no longer teaching the children to write English in cursive, do the kids who choose to learn how to read and write cursive now get an extra credit grade in English class? Is English cursive soon to be labeled a dead written language? Will our children get a foreign language credit if they can read and write English cursive?

Oh, my! In the future when my grand kids come across a letter I’ve written in cursive, will they have to hire an interpreter to read and transcribe it?
