Gig Harbor resident named head of World Trade Center in Tacoma

June 4, 2014

Louise Tieman is the new executive director of the World Trade Center in Tacoma.

Tiemen was an active board member for more than two years and has served on the board’s executive committee and as treasurer.

With deep roots in Pierce County, Tieman has lived in Gig Harbor for the past 22 years. She attended the University of Puget Sound, the University of Washington and the Monterey Institute for International Studies.

She replaces Anthony Hemstad, who moved to the World Trade Center San Francisco on Jan. 1.

The World Trade Center Tacoma is part of a 330 city, 100 country World Trade Association. It is the largest business network in the world.

The Tacoma center is the only full-service WTC in the Pacific Northwest.
