Nothing could do more good for Gig Harbor than a fuel dock

May 7, 2014

I was amazed to read in this mornings’ Gateway (April 30, 2014), that the “Council stalls fuel dock grant due to lack of public comment.” I appreciate that the city council invites public opinion on matters of community development. However, in the 14 years that I’ve lived in Gig Harbor, I’ve never heard more agreement on any issue than Gig Harbor needing a gas dock.

In terms of business growth, and economic viability for downtown merchants, nothing could do more good than to encourage boaters to visit Gig Harbor. A gas dock is integral to making Gig Harbor the boating destination that it could be. Please announce loudly when the next meeting occurs for us to show up, and say “Hey, we need a gas dock!” It seems everybody knows this, but if you need us to come to a meeting in order to make a decision, we’ll come.
