Kitsap Bank will have a small business competition this year that will award a $20,000 cash prize to a business that is having a positive effect on the community in three ways: economically, socially, and environmentally.
The competition, called Edg3 Fund, is designed to provide money for entrepreneurs who show they’re committed to “growing the community economically, socially and environmentally,” said Tony George, Kitsap Bank president, in a news release.
The six-week application period starts June 2, with public voting on the semifinalists available through social media channels and the Kitsap Bank website.
Finalists will be selected by public vote to present their pitches at a live event. An independent panel of judges will determine the winner. For-profit small businesses based in Western Washington that have positive economic, social and environmental influences on the communities Kitsap Bank serves are encouraged to apply.
