Key Peninsula group to hold safety classes

March 19, 2014

The Key Peninsula Citizens Against Crime group, in cooperation with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s Peninsula Detachment is sponsoring a Women/Girls Safety Awareness Event to educate females on personal safety.

Awareness before defense will be the focus during the presentation, which will be held from 6:30 to8:30 p.m. March 27 at McColly Hall at the Key Peninsula Lutheran Church, 4213 Lackey Road KPN.

Numerous self-defense tools — mace, kubotans, handguns, knives, etc. — will be discussed in order to better educate women before they make a choice of owning one of them.

The event is for women and girls 12 and older.

The Peninsula Gateway is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
