School district to have health internship

March 19, 2014

The Peninsula School District will have its first Health Science summer internship experience for students who are interested in pursuing careers in the medical field.

The four-day experience is sponsored by St. Anthony Hospital, Cottesmore of Life Care and Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One.

The program is for incoming high school juniors and seniors.

The purpose is to provide an opportunity to experience real-life scenarios in various fields of medical care, to develop fundamental knowledge and skills, and to gain an understanding of patient assessment and care.

The program will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 23-26.

Applications must be postmarked by April 18 and sent to the school district office, 14015 62nd Ave., Gig Harbor, WA 98332.

The Peninsula Gateway is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point.
