Wildlife shelter to share information on coyotes

February 19, 2014

The City of Gig Harbor and West Sound Wildlife will host a free presentation on coyotes at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Gig Harbor Civic Center.

Council member Tim Payne said coyotes are a growing problem in Gig Harbor’s downtown core. He brought up the event at a recent council meeting.

Payne praised West Sound Wildlife for coming in to host a forum about what people might not know about the animals.

Coyote sightings have increased in urban areas due to landscape changes and human encroachment. The free presentation will be aimed at all age groups and include fun facts as well as practical safety information.

The Peninsula Gateway is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
