The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance will bring in Seanette Corkill of Frontdoor Back to present a three-day workshop titled “The Essentials of Effective Storefronts and Merchandising.”
Businesses can attend a 90-minute workshop from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at Arabella’s net shed, where Corkill will provide tools and ideas to property owners, merchants and restaurateurs in the areas of signage, entrances, lighting, color, awnings, window displays, store layout, fixture placement, customer circulation and atmosphere.
The cost is $10 for alliance members, $15 to include additional staff, and $20 for non-members or $25 for non-members with additional staff. Case studies, outlines and handouts will be provided.
Each business that attends can apply to be considered for a one-on-one, on-site consultation with Corkill on Feb. 5. Six businesses will be selected. The cost is $25 for alliance members, $50 for non-members.
Corkill will review their stores and make recommendations to help improve attractiveness and sales closure rate.
On Feb. 6, one of the six businesses Corkill reviews will be selected for a half-day, get-your-hands-dirty makeover session.
Corkill has been a consultant and presenter for more than 10 years following a retail career. Her sessions at RevitalizeWA, the annual Main Street and Preservation Conference, are standing-room-only.
The workshop is sponsored by the Downtown Waterfront Alliance and Brett Marlo Designs. For more information or to RSVP, call 253-514-0071.
