Food bank could also use donations of cat, dog food

Gig HarborDecember 18, 2013

As the holidays approach, many wonderful people are generously giving food, toys, Christmas items and coats to the Gig Harbor/Peninsula FISH Food Bank.

As a volunteer, I know firsthand that the majority of people who use the food bank have animals that they love as much as their children. We are always in need of cat food, both wet and dry; dog food, both wet and dry, and cat and dog treats. Litter is never donated, and it would be an extra treat for our cat owners. We’ll even take dog and cat toys!

Please, don’t forget the animals. They, too, need our help, and they can’t speak for themselves.

Thanks for all you do to help us. We appreciate everything that is donated. Now let’s also help the animals!

The Peninsula Gateway is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
