City playground at Crescent Creek closes to make way for a new one

Gateway news servicesDecember 11, 2013

The play structure at City Park at Crescent Creek closed Monday due to the start of construction on the Gig Harbor Maritime PlayZone.

The rest of the park, at 3303 Vernhardson St., will be open from dawn to dusk daily.

Depending on weather, the PlayZone project is expected to take two months to complete. The structure will be all-inclusive to provide children and adults of all abilities to play. It also will have a fishing vessel to represent Gig Harbor fishermen.

Signs will show users areas of the park that are closed.
