A women’s health clinic opened earlier this month in Gig Harbor.

The Franciscan Women’s Health Associates clinic, 6401 Kimball Drive, offers care for women from adolescence to menopause. Specialists include midwifery, obstetrics, prenatal care and gynecology for women and teens.

The clinic opened Nov. 4. It’s the first foray into comprehensive women’s health outside of a hospital setting, said Scott Thompson of the Franciscan Health System.

There is a team of three main specialists at the clinic. They are:

 • Mark T. Benham, who specializes in well-woman care, normal and high-risk obstetrics, female endocrine issues and minimally invasive surgery;

 • Donna Payne-Snyder, who focuses on gynecologic care for women and teens, including personalized care for expectant mothers;

 • John Read, who specializes in high-risk pregnancy, including multiple births and managing diabetes during pregnancy.

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
