City to honor outgoing councilman, Mayor

Public invited to celebrate Derek Young and Chuck Hunter

The city will honor outgoing councilman Derek Young and Mayor Chuck Hunter with farewell open houses at city hall.

The city will recognize Young on from 5 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25. There will be an open house and light refreshments before the council meeting. Young has been on the council for 16 years.

A farewell open house will honor Hunter with a "cupcake and coffee" celebration from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 9. Hunter's final council meeting will follow the open house.

Both open houses will be held at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St.
