Gig Harbor girls soccer wins league title

The Gig Harbor Tides clinched the Class 4A Narrows League championship last week.
Gig Harbor had a 1-1 tie on Oct. 29 against Central Kitsap and a 1-0 win over South Kitsap, thanks to a Kailyn Tovey goal off a corner kick.
The Tides (7-0-4) won their second straight league title. They will play a district game against Kentridge at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mount Tahoma High School.


Peninsula, Gig Harbor players advance to state tourneys
Christian Lewis and Hayden Skidmore, Peninsula High School’s No. 1 doubles team, placed second in the 3A West Central District tournament last weekend. They will advance to the state tournament next May in Kennewick.
Gig Harbor’s Drew Lawson advanced to state as a singles participant.
