I live in the 26th Legislative District, where voters are proud to be considered a swing district, meaning we don’t vote by party lines. We attempt to choose the best candidates.
I attended a recent candidates’ forum at Tacoma City Club, where there were opponents running for five different offices, including the 26th District Senate race. All the races had everyone there except for one candidate, Rep. Jan Angel.
I wanted to hear what she had to say in such a telling situation. She had confirmed she would be there, and the moderator announced she was on her way. She did not show.
Sen. Nathan Schlicher was present. He explained some of the things he had been able to accomplish as the current Senator, without a negative word toward his opponent.
I want someone who keeps their commitments, not someone who shows disregard for constituents.
Evaluate how these candidates behave and see that Schlicher works with integrity for his constituents. He’s a Senator we can count on.
