I wanted to sign the petition that’s been circulating on building heights because I thought it was to save the character of downtown Gig Harbor. But now I know better.
Our historic character is small, two-story buildings. Are we saying no to that?
If each floor of a two-story building can’t get larger than 3,000 square feet, why not? If view corridors are preserved, why not?
People ought to have the right to improve their properties if it’s compatible with what we have. That’s how we will preserve our town.
Don’t get duped into signing something that’s inaccurate and misleading. Our city council is doing a good job. They don’t deserve negative innuendos.
