A ceremony to open opening a free library will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Al’s Store in Olalla.
The collaborative project is designed to promote literacy and will run by the motto “take a book, return a book.”
The library is registered at www.LittleFreeLibrary.org.
The Olalla Little Free Library was donated as an unfinished cedar box by Peg Kehret, author of 53 books for children. Several local writers and authors collaborated to stain and paint the box and install a new cedar roof to replace the original composition roof.
Key participants have been Pat and Frank Stricklin, Dianne Gardner, Randall Platt, Gregg Olsen, Peg Kehret and Anjali Banerjee. The authors are donating books to stock the library.
