The Evergreen Performers, founded in 1984, will perform “The Kid’s of Bristol” at Peninsula Christian Fellowship this month.
The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12-13 and at 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at 3114 45th St. Court Northwest. The full-length family musical is based on the life and ministry of George Mueller, a colleague and friend of Charles Dickens.
Many of Dickens’ characters are based on real children Mueller ministered to in the 1830s. The small orphanage he founded in his home is still operating today. It established the orphanage system in Western Europe and the United States.
“This is an exceptional story,” said Evergreen Director Sharon Cantrill, “We have over 40 people in the cast, many from the local area.”
Tickets are free, but donations will be taken. The production marks the 29th anniversary of the group who will also be performing at other churches around the greater Puget Sound area.
