Both the the 9-10 and 10-11 Gig Harbor clubs won on Tuesday evening, putting both one step closer to taking home state titles.
In the 10-11 game, five Gig Harbor all-stars had two hits, and Adie Werner continued her pitching dominance as they dominated Redmond 10-0 at Everest Park in Kirkland.
Redmond's bats were completely silenced by Werner, who were coming off a 20-2 victory over North Lake.
In addition to the shutout and five strikeouts, Werner also went 2-3 at the plate. Camryn Dickens went 3-for-3 with a triple, and Madisen McCutcheon, Maddie Malich and Anna Stewart all had two knocks each.
With the victory, Gig Harbor will now play the winner of the Mill Creek verse Redmond loser out semifinal on Thursday at field A at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will have to win twice, as Gig Harbor has yet to lose and the tournament is double elimination.
In the 9-10 game, the normally potent bats were held to only 3 runs, but the Gig Harbor pitchers held a potent Kirkland lineup in check for a 3-1 victory at La Center Park in La Center.
The win puts Gig Harbor into the semifinals, and will next take on undefeated Snohomish on Tuesday at 6 p.m.. A win there would give them the same situation as the 10-11 club; giving them two chances at winning a state championship.
