Editorial: Speak up at toll advisory meetings

The Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Commission is currently reviewing traffic numbers provided by the state Department of Transportation to prepare a recommendation on tolls for next July. The commission may make a recommendation either Dec. 1 or Dec. 8 to the state Transportation Commission, which ultimately will set the toll.

These rates will have an impact on everyone in the region, particularly our peninsulas, because every dollar spent on the bridge is potentially taken away from local businesses.

Attend those meetings, both from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, and have your voice heard. Otherwise, the decision on tolls may be made without you.
