Two Gig Harbor brothers have teamed up to launch an online company to sell vitamin supplements to the public at a discount.
Eric and Cameron Jensen launched their Web site, www.quicksupps.com, on Aug. 5 to make obtaining the products as simple as pressing a few keys.
The Jensens deal directly with manufacturers, eliminating retailers and bringing the product directly to consumers at wholesale cost or less.
“We have six warehouses across the nation, so shipments can be received between one and three days,” Eric Jensen said. “We know a couple people in southern California that are fitness consultants, and they helped us with getting to know different suppliers.
“We don’t have to go through someone else, so we can sell direct, and we sell in bulk, so the savings goes to the customers.”
Cameron Jensen said the Web site will regularly offer a featured product called the “quick pick,” which will be an on-sale product at 20 to 60 percent off.
“If that product sells out, another product will replace it at a discount as well,” he said.
Jensen said there are no hidden costs or “memberships” involved, so consumers can order as little or as much as they want.
The Web site has an option of selling 6,000 products and is offering about 2,000 on launch day. The brothers said they will keep a close eye on what consumers are looking at, and they’ll eventually focus in on the products that sell.
“We can see what page they view and how long they’re on our site for,” Jensen said. “If we see 1,000 page hits for one product, obviously we’re going to look at that.”
The brothers are longtime fitness enthusiasts who regularly work out at the Gig Harbor YMCA.
“People need supplements because they have such fast-paced lives and they don’t get all the nutrition from their diet,” Eric Jensen said. “We take a pre-workout supplement because it gives you energy and mental focus, and you work out with more intensity.”
The Jensens are in the process of discussing business possibilities with local fitness clubs.
“We want to team up with various health clubs and see what kind of supplements they need, and tailor-fit a product line for them,” Eric Jensen said. “We sell anything from endurance products for marathon athletes, to protein for body builders.”
The Jensens also have partnered with www.liftitbuddy.com, a Web site that offers information on health, exercise and nutrition.
“The site will have a personal training feature for any questions relating to supplements or working out,” Cameron Jensen said. “We will also have video segments of workouts.”
The workout videos will offer instructions on proper workout techniques.
