Special to the Gateway

Published: 01:50PM May 7th, 2009

The Key Singers will present their 11th annual spring concert at 3 p.m. May 16 at McColley Hall at the Key Peninsula Lutheran Church.

“We need to have something that will raise our spirits,” said Director Marianne McColley, with special selections relating to the theme.

Musical numbers will range from the theme title, “High Hopes,” through patriotic, The Lord’s Prayer set to a West Indian folk tune and a finale medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein on Broadway.

Special soloists and groups include Conchord, soprano Barbara Bramhall, guest Caitlyn Alonzo, and a Key Peninsula Middle School group under the direction of Nancy Shang.

Refreshments will be provided in a cabaret-style environment. The Key Peninsula Lutheran Church is located at the intersection of the Key Peninsula Highway and Lackey Road.

Special baskets will be raffled, and raffle tickets may be purchased by calling 253-884-2686.

The spring concert is the only time the Key Singers charge admission. They do so to help pay for music and scholarships.

Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and teens.

Contributions for the Key Peninsula Community Services food bank are encouraged. For more information, call 253-884-5615.
