Astronomer to speak at Harbor Covenant Church

Harbor Covenant Church will host a lecture by Dr. Hugh Ross on the Reasons to Believe organization from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at 5601 Gustafson Drive NW in Gig Harbor.

Ross has authored 10 books, including “Creation as Science” and “Why the Universe is the Way It Is.” The event is free and open to the public.

Peninsula Lutheran Church to host free movie night

Peninsula Lutheran Church will host a movie night for the community with a showing of “Monsters vs. Aliens” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at 6509 38th Ave. NW.

Admission is free. Popcorn and candy will be provided. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to host potluck

The Gig Harbor/South Kitsap neighborhood support groups will meet at 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Burley Community Clubhouse, 14853 Burley Ave. SE, for a mini-service and potluck.

Harbor Covenant Church to host support group

Harbor Covenant Church will host a grief and loss support group from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at 5601 Gustafson Drive NW in Gig Harbor.

The monthly open, drop-in support group, led by Barbara Plank, aims to provide a safe place to receive comfort and hope.

Published by the Upper Room Ministries, “Companions in Christ” is a unique, spiritual formation small group that aims to provide ways and paths for individuals to grow closer to God.
