Art Walk event this Saturday

The First Saturday Art Walk in Gig Harbor is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. this weekend.

Visitors can pick up an Art Walk Passport at any participating gallery to be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate. Helen DeLuga of Tucson, Ariz., won the July gift certificate, which was donated by Gallery Row.

During the Art Walk, artist demonstrations will be held at the following locations:

Ebb Tide Gallery, 7809 Pioneer Way, 253-851-5293 — Featured artists: Hannah Bellefontaine, pottery, Elaine Erickson, oils/acrylics, watercolors and colored pencil, and Richard Jahn, oils.

Gallery Row, 3102 Harborview Drive, 253-851-6020 — Featured artist: Barbara Patterson, water media and bronze sculptures.

Kit Kuhn — A Jeweler Designed For You, 3104 Harborview Drive, 253-851-5546 — Featuring a 14-karat yellow gold pendant of a gig (small row boat); the city’s original logo, suspended in the center of a gold wire circle.

Water’s Edge Gallery & Framery, Inc., 7808 Pioneer Way, 253-858-7449 — Featured artist: Lola Waller, landscape watercolors.

Birdnest Gallery & Framing, 7716 Pioneer Way, Suite A, 253-857-6341 — Featured artist: Glen Van Dyne, photography.

Harbor Gallery, 3177 Harborview Drive, 253-851-8626 — Featured artist: Puget Sound Group of NW Painters and a selection of paintings from the Rudy Bundas Memorial Paint Out.

For Art Sake, 8805 N. Harborview Drive, 253-858-8087 — Featured artist: Pauline L’Abbe-Jones, fabric collage.

Artists’ work will continue to be featured throughout the month.

An Art Evening will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Aug. 27. The additional weekday Art Evening is in conjunction with the series of Thursday evening sailboat races in the harbor.

The Thursday evening races are held throughout May and again each Thursday evening in August. The races start at Arabella’s Landing Marina at 6:30 p.m. and race from Anthony’s Restaurant to the Tides Tavern.
