Art Walk event to be held Saturday

The First Saturday Art Walk in Gig Harbor is scheduled for this weekend.

It’s a perfect time to visit downtown galleries and enjoy summer concerts, movies and a day of shopping.

The First Saturday Art Walk will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

Pick up an Art Walk Passport at any participating gallery to be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate.

The August gift certificate will be donated by Harbor Gallery. Nancy Pritehard of Portland, Ore., won the July prize, which was donated by Water’s Edge Gallery & Framery.

Artist demonstrations will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the following galleries:

Ebb Tide Gallery, 7809 Pioneer Way, 253-851-5293 — Featured artist: Dori Wheeler, decorative painting.

Gallery Row, 3102 Harborview Drive, 253-851-6020 — Featured artist: Janice Wagner, oils.

Kit Kuhn — A Jeweler Designed For You, 3104 Harborview Drive, 253-851-5546 — Kit will be making a 14-karat yellow gold bezel ring set with a checkerboard Peridot (August’s birthstone).

Water’s Edge Gallery & Framery, Inc., 7808 Pioneer Way, 253-858-7449 — A posthumous tribute to photographer Don Thompson, founding member of the Sound Exposure Photo Club.

Birdnest Gallery & Framing, 7716 Pioneer Way Suite A, 253-857-6341 — Featured artist: Yuri Mamchur, pianist and composer, and Marge Rich, jewelry.

Harbor Gallery, 3177 Harborview Drive, 253-851-8626 — Featured artist: Lynn Guenard, watercolors and collage.
