Artists, galleries will display works for month of April

The monthly First Saturday Art Walk will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on April 5. Visitors can pick up their Art Walk Passport at any participating gallery to be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate, which will be donated by Birdnest Gallery & Framing. Peter Wilkins of Port Orchard won the March prize, which was donated by Ebb Tide Gallery. Artist demonstrations will be conducted during Art Walk at the following galleries: Ebb Tide Gallery, 7809 Pioneer Way in Gig Harbor, 253-851-5293 — John Lavin’s pottery and Carrie Kincaid’s framed found objects will be featured. Gallery Row, 3102 Harborview Drive in Gig Harbor, 253-851-6020 — Rebecca Baumgartner’s pastels and Linda Caspersen’s textile art will be featured. Kit Kuhn – A Jeweler Designed For You, 3104 Harborview Drive in Gig Harbor, 253-851-5546 — Kuhn’s gallery will feature a ring with 1.09 karat marquise diamond set in platinum with channeled baguette diamonds. Water’s Edge Gallery & Framery, Inc., 7808 Pioneer Way in Gig Harbor, 253-858-7449 — Alexis St. John’s acrylics will be on display. Birdnest Gallery & Framing, 7716 Pioneer Way Suite A in Gig Harbor, 253-857-6341 — Larry Martin, a bird carver, will demonstrate his skills. See page 2D for a photo of his work. Artist demonstrations are always held from 1 to 5 p.m. the day of the art walk, but those artists will be still be featured throughout the entire month at participating galleries.
