PAA offices move to Gig Harbor Boys & Girls Club

The Peninsula Athletic Association offices have moved to the Jim and Carolyn Milgard Family HOPE Center, 8502 Skansie Ave. in Gig Harbor.

The PAA mailing address will continue to be: P.O. Box 1220, Gig Harbor, WA 98335.

Some upcoming programs include the youth basketball. The cost is $105 for boys and girls in grades three through 12.

Registration forms will be available this week for an expanded first- and second-grade basketball program that will be played at the Boys & Girls Club.

Wrestling program to hold registration Oct. 14

Peninsula youth wrestling, a non-profit organization, will hold registration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the McDonald’s restaurant in Gig Harbor North.

The program is for youth ages 5 to 13 from Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula.

Disc golf course now open at Volunteer Park

A disc golf course is now available at Volunteer Park on the Key Peninsula.

Participants can test their throwing and putting skills through different challenges and obstacles. Discs are available for rent at the park office during business hours.

Washington state boating course offered mid-October

Boaters 25 and younger are required to have a Boater’s Education Card issued by the Washington State Parks Department in order to operate most boats.

The Bremerton Sail and Power Squadron will offer America’s Boating Course from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 17-18 at the Rosedale Fire Station, 7710 Rosedale St. in Gig Harbor. The cost is $35.

Pacific Waves synchronized team to offer lessons at PHS

The Pacific Waves Synchronized Swimming Team will offer lessons starting Oct. 13 at the Peninsula High School pool.

There are two sessions available from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Either Oct. 13, 20, Nov. 3 and 10, or Nov. 17, Dec. 1, 8 and 15.
