Burglary

June 19 — A woman called deputies to report a burglary to her vacant home for sale. Several antiques and family keepsakes reportedly were taken from the residence. The unknown suspect may have entered through a doorway.

Credit card fraud

June 19 — A woman told deputies that her wallet was missing. The victim was unsure whether the wallet, which contained two bank cards and other items of identification, had been stolen or misplaced. The woman said an unknown thief had used a bank card to purchase $78 in gasoline from a Silverdale gas station. The suspect also attempted to withdraw cash from the woman’s account but was unsuccessful.

New homes burglarized

June 20 — A male realtor reported the break-in and vandalism of three new homes for sale. The suspects reportedly stole multiple new Viking-brand appliances form the homes and caused an unspecified amount of damage to the interiors.

Assault and kidnapping

June 21 — Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence. The female victim told deputies she and her boyfriend had been celebrating her birthday at a Tacoma bar. After they left the party, the woman attempted multiple times to leave the vehicle after the man reportedly assaulted her many times. The man allegedly crashed into a pole and further injured the woman, who struck the vehicle’s dashboard. The man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on second-degree domestic violence, unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence with threats to kill. The woman was taken to an area hospital for multiple injuries.

Vandalism

June 25 — A man reported to deputies that an unknown suspect had apparently used a baseball bat to destroy his driver’s side window and windshield on his 1996 Dodge Ram. The victim’s daughter may have seen the suspects leave in an El Camino-type vehicle.

Suspended license

June 19 — An officer on routine patrol performed a records check of a vehicle’s registration through the Department of Motor Vehicles and discovered the registered owner had a suspended license. After stopping the vehicle, the officer arrested the man and issued a third-degree criminal citation for the offense. The man was released from the scene and told not to drive his vehicle or risk being arrested again.

Stolen vehicle recovered

June 21 — An officer on patrol discovered a stolen vehicle that was abandoned at an apartment building in the 5400 block of 34th Avenue. The vehicle had been missing for long enough that the owner’s insurance company settled a claim. A tow company was called to recover the vehicle, which is now owned by the insurance company.

Drunken teens snagged

June 22 — A call for a woman screaming on 45th Street Court NW led to the responding officer finding two drunk teenagers. A boy and girl were stumbling and falling in the roadway as the officer contacted them. One teen was arrested and taken to the Remann Hall Juvenile Detention facility, and the other was given a criminal citation for minor in possession of alcohol.

Car prowler snagged

June 23 — A man and woman who were returning to their pickup truck found a white man in his 20s sitting in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. After being scared away by the couple, the man fled in an Ford F-150 with a missing tailgate. Responding officers found the suspect in the Olympic Drive McDonald’s drive-through, waiting for his order of food. The suspect was arrested for a vehicle prowl and booked on a warrant from Kitsap County. A citation for second-degree driving with a suspended license also was added to the charges. A search of the vehicle following the arrest also turned up marijuana, a pipe, numerous pills and a small scale.

June 25 — A man told officers that an unknown suspect had broken into his vehicle and stole multiple items. Missing were six bags of candy, an electric tire pump and a Bingo bag. The suspect apparently used a screwdriver to punch out the vehicle’s door lock.
