Alex’s Coupons & Partners, a Gig Harbor Web-based company, recently donated $3,000 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation of Washington, a foundation dedicated to lifting the spirits of seriously ill children and their families.

Alex’s Coupons has been donating to local charities for the past four years.

Todd L. Martini started the company after his 10-month-old daughter, Alexandra (Alex) Martini, was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).

Over a period of six years, Alex underwent two cord blood transplants, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, total body irradiation, experimental treatments and more. During that time, the family moved three times from the West Coast to Durham, N.C, so Alex could be treated at Duke University Medical Center.

Alex’s Coupons was launched to help pay medical and moving expenses.

The Web site, www.alexscoupons.com, offers deals for more than 1,200 stores and also raises funds for childhood cancer charities.

In the past four years, the company has donated more than $13,000 to Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation of Washington.
