Oct. 30 — A woman called 9-1-1 to report an apparent burglary at the Canterwood home she was charged with watching while the homeowners were out of town. An estranged female friend of the family’s daughter apparently has a key to the home and had been caught on multiple times by the reporting party as occupying the residence. A cab driver who had picked up the female suspect in Bremerton reportedly dropped her off at the home. The woman was unable to pay the $80 fare and told the cab driver she would give him a plasma TV set in exchange for the fare. She signed a receipt for the exchange using her name. The cab driver contacted deputies after returning the TV to the home. The woman who was house sitting found a laptop computer missing and believed to have been stolen by the same suspect. The homeowners didn’t know how the suspect came into possession of a house key. They were going to have all of the home’s locks changed.
Oct. 31 — A man called deputies after he found his 2004 Toyota Tundra had been broken into by an unknown suspect, who reportedly stole a GPS unit from the vehicle. The truck’s audible alarm apparently scared away the suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene in a two-door silver sedan.
Oct. 31 — Deputies took a report from a woman regarding the theft of pumpkins from her front yard. A late model Dodge Dakota pickup was seen leaving the area.
Nov. 2 — A woman called 9-1-1 after she found someone had stolen a delivered package that contained her husband’s new prescription eye glasses. The unknown suspect apparently stole the package after it had been delivered to her home. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
Nov. 2 — A woman who is attempting to sell an unoccupied home following a foreclosure found that many of the home’s appliances had been stolen. The reporting party told responding deputies that the home’s water heater, cooking range, dishwasher and ceiling fan were missing. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
Nov. 4 — A clerk at a Lakebay-area store was robbed by a white man described as 5 feet 6, 45-55 years old, with a clean shave and wearing a blue bandana. The suspect reportedly asked for a couple packs of cigarettes, and when the clerk turned around, the suspect allegedly was pointing a black revolver at the clerk. The suspect took about $500 from the store before he told the clerk to lie on the floor. The clerk told the responding deputy they may have heard the suspect leave in what sounded like a pickup truck. The deputy found a pistol grip half from the alleged weapon used in the caper. Investigators believe a BB-style gun was used to intimidate the clerk.
Nov. 4 — A woman called 9-1-1 after she found her 1978 Ford pickup truck had been stolen. The victim reportedly left the truck’s keys in the ignition and didn’t lock the doors. The victim told the responding deputy she may have heard the vehicle being driven away a little past midnight.
Nov. 6 — A man told responding deputies that his 1961 Chevy Corvette had apparently been stolen from an area storage facility. It appeared as though someone used a drill to gain access to the car through a lock. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
