Gig Harbor Arts Commission grants program announced

The Gig Harbor Arts Commission has announced plans for the 2010 Arts Commission Grants Workshop. While funding depends on the city council’s approval of the 2010 budget, the GHAC will host a workshop to help applicants properly fill out grant applications and assist with other questions.

The workshop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St. in Gig Harbor.

Grant applications are available at the civic center or at www.cityofgigharbor.net. Applicants must use the 2010 application and should not submit forms from previous years. The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. Nov. 20. Late applications or late postmarks will not be accepted.

The city’s arts grant program is designed to provide funding in support of public outreach projects in the fields of music, dance, theater and the visual arts. The grant awards range in value from $500 to $2,000.
