Car theft

Oct. 5 — A man called police to report the theft of 1992 Honda Accord. The victim told the responding deputy he may have seen a suspect in the area before the theft. The victim described the person as a white male who stands about 6 feet tall.

Burglary

Oct. 8 — A man called police after he found several items stolen from his home. The unknown suspect may have illegally entered the home through a sliding glass back door. A neighbor told the victim of a known male suspect who had been seen on the victim’s back patio a month previously. Reported missing were a 32-inch Vizio LCD TV, an HP laptop computer, an iPod and a Nintendo Wii entertainment system.

Domestic violence

Oct. 16 — Police responded to a possible domestic violence call at a local gas station. When an officer arrived, an apparently intoxicated woman was yelling while a man who appeared to be involved in the scene was waiting in a nearby parking lot. The man was contacted and he told the officer he had attempted to give the woman a ride, but after she became abusive, he tried to remove her from his car. The woman was seen by local fire department crews and transported to an area hospital for evaluation. She was later transported to and booked into Pierce County Jail on charges stemming from her multiple assaults on emergency room staff while at the hospital.

Teen booked for assault

Oct. 17 — Police arrested a man and booked him into Pierce County Jail on second-degree assault charges after he reportedly used a police-issued ASP telescoping baton to injure another man. Witnesses said the suspect pulled into a the parking lot at a pizza restaurant and started a verbal fight with the victim. The confrontation was escalated when the suspect reportedly beat the victim with the baton.

Tools stolen

Oct. 9 — A man called 9-1-1 to report the theft of several work tools that had been stored in the backyard of a home the man was remodeling. A tile saw and some air-powered tools were reportedly stolen. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Burglary

Oct. 9 — A woman told deputies of an apparent break-in of her home. The responding deputy believed the unknown suspect accessed the home through a downstairs laundry room window. Several electronic devices had been taken. The deputy left an inventory form with the woman to describe a list of stolen or missing items, along with their serial numbers.

Gasoline siphoned

Oct. 9 — Deputies took a report from a woman who said someone siphoned 5 gallons of gas from her 1987 Ford F-150 pickup.

Purse stolen

Oct. 10 — A woman called 9-1-1 to report the apparent theft of her purse from her workplace lunchroom. The woman had her ID, credit cards and an iPod in the bag, which was reportedly left in an unlocked locker. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Runaway truck

Oct. 11 — A man who was fueling his vehicle at a Lakebay gas station was verbally warned by a man to watch out for his 1998 Dodge pickup as it rolled away from a parking spot. The truck struck the man’s car and damaged a fender and the left side of the vehicle before it hit a nearby post office and shattered a window pane. No injuries were reported.

Fraud

Oct. 12 — A woman called to report the unauthorized use of a credit card. A charge had been made to the River Road Animal Hospital and to Mary’s Guns in Tacoma. Charges were in excess of $3,000.

Church vandalized

Oct. 13 — A man reported spray paint vandalism of the King of Glory Lutheran Church. Someone painted two upside down crosses in black paint on the exterior walls of the house of worship. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Neighbor harassment

Oct. 14 — A man who was checking on an area beach house reported the theft of his 1968 Ford pickup truck’s gas cap. The victim’s son reportedly owns the house. The victim believes his son’s neighbor is behind the theft, and he said it happens every time he visits the property. The victim told the deputy he believes the suspect is waging a campaign of harassment against him.
