Woman ill

Aug. 15 — A caretaker found a 93-year-old woman on the ground experiencing tremor-like symptoms. The caretaker told paramedics the woman regained her normal level of consciousness and couldn’t remember what happened. Paramedics provided supportive care while they transported the woman to a hospital.

Boy ill

Aug. 16 — A 12-year-old boy told his mother that he began to have chest pain and shortness of breath while he was playing in the yard. He told her he had passed out, and when he came to, he got up to find her. Paramedics provided spinal protection and supportive care while they transported the boy to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Car accident

Aug. 17 — An 82-year-old driver of a car that was rear-ended told paramedics he had some lower back pain. Paramedics removed him from the car and provided spinal protection. The car suffered extensive rear-end damage, but the air bags did not deploy. The man was transported to an area emergency room for evaluation.

Man falls

Aug. 18 — A 54-year-old man fell into his boat as he stepped off a dock. The man was in so much pain the following day that he called 9-1-1 to be examined. Paramedics felt there was enough concern to provide stabilization to his hip area while they transported him to a hospital for evaluation.

Boy shoots himself

Aug. 19 — A 13-year-old boy was trying to get an oxygen cartridge out of his pellet gun when the gun fired and struck him in the face. The blast caused a laceration to his eye. Paramedics found him lying on the floor, holding pressure to the wound. Medics continued to apply pressure and transported the boy to an area hospital.

Diabetic emergency

Aug. 20 — A 29-year-old man had spent the day working in his yard, in the sun, when he realized his blood sugar was out of balance. He called his father and sat down outside. The man’s father called 9-1-1. Paramedics provided diabetic treatment protocols. The patient remained at home with his father.

Pain from recent fall

Aug. 21 — A 69-year-old man reported that he had fallen three days before he called 9-1-1. Today the man was experiencing arm and facial numbness. Paramedics provided an on-scene evaluation and provided transport to a hospital for further treatment.

Man ill

Aug. 14 — Medics were called to a Longbranch home for an adult male who complained of not feeling well the previous night. The man was evaluated by paramedics and transported to a local hospital.

Chest pain

Aug. 15 — A Lakebay resident called for medics after they suffered from chest pain and breathing difficulty. The patient was treated at the scene and rushed to a hospital for advanced care.

Burn complaint

Aug. 16 — Firefighters were called to a Lakebay home for a report of an illegal burn. The fire was extinguished and a report was filed. Possible fines are pending due to the ongoing burn ban still in effect.

Collision

Aug. 17 — Medics and firefighters responded to a vehicle crash at 142nd Avenue and Key Peninsula Highway North. One vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ditch. The sole occupant suffered minor injuries and refused care.

Man ill

Aug. 18 — Medics were called to a Herron Island residence for an elderly man who was suffering from dizziness. The man was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital.

Chest pain

Aug. 19 — A Lake of the Woods resident who was suffering from chest pain called for paramedics as his condition worsened. He was treated and transported to a local hospital for advanced care.

Water rescue

Aug. 20 — Water rescue teams were dispatched for a woman who was screaming for help in the water near Vipond Drive. The patient was brought to shore by a private boat, then transported to a local hospital with neck and leg injuries.

Fire

Aug. 21 — Firefighters were called to a residence on 195th Avenue at Key Peninsula Highway South for a garage fire and a burn victim. While units were responding, reports of an explosion were received and mutual aid was requested from the City of Gig Harbor and Kitsap County. The fire destroyed the garage and several vehicles, including an RV. One patient was transported to a local hospital by Kitsap County medics for chest pain.
