Nov. 8 — Police recovered a golden labrador in the 770 block of 52nd Place in Gig Harbor. The dog was taken to the Pierce County Humane Society in Tacoma in hopes that the owner could be reunited with the animal.
Nov. 8 — A couple in a car was nabbed by police after a traffic stop. The officer smelled intoxicants emanating from the car. The male driver and female passenger were restless and moving frantically in the vehicle. After the driver refused field-sobriety tests, he was arrested. A search uncovered a baggy of cocaine. When the woman was removed from the car, an empty baggy with white residue fell from her lap. The pair was taken to Pierce County Jail. The man was charged with DUI, third-degree driving with a suspended license and drug possession. The car was impounded. When stripped searched at the jail, a glass pipe was found hidden on the woman. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Nov. 9 — A victim driving on Burnham Drive was pelted with an egg by a passing blue car. The victim’s mirror was damaged.
Nov. 10 — A man who parked his Volkswagon Jetta near a local restaurant returned later to find an unknown suspect had broken into the car, stealing a laptop computer and some CDs. Damage to the car’s doors and a smashed window also were reported.
Nov. 11 — A woman called 9-1-1 to report the theft of her AM-FM-CD and mp3 player in her car’s dash. The radio was valued at $200.
Nov. 10 — A tenant was arrested after his landlord discovered the man had broken into an attached and locked storage area. The responding deputy discovered a door had been pried open and that a futon and a refrigerator had been removed. The suspect told the deputy he had taken the futon to provide a place for his brother-in-law to sleep. The man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on third-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree theft.
Nov. 12 — A phone call from a Kitsap County deputy to a Pierce County deputy solved a car theft. The Kitsap County deputy had stopped a vehicle with two men and found papers with a Gig Harbor address. Also recovered were a laptop computer and a handgun. The Pierce County deputy went to the address on the suspect's papers and was met by the victims in their driveway. The suspects were booked into Kitsap County Jail on theft charges.
Nov. 13 — A Lakebay homeowner called deputies after he discovered an unknown suspect had damaged landscaping fabric on a perimeter fence.
Nov. 14 — A Fox Island woman called deputies to report an unknown suspect had entered her home and ransacked drawers. The suspect reportedly stole cameras, jewelry and electronics.
Nov. 15 — An Artondale woman called 9-1-1 to report her ex-boyfriend had slashed the driver’s side tire on her Honda car. The man had been drinking the night before and admitted to cutting the tire. He promised to repair the damage and was warned by the deputy not to harass the woman.
