Tampered hospital

June 28 — A man called police after he found the construction site at St. Anthony Hospital along Canterwood Boulevard tampered with. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Important items found

June 30 — A man called police when he found miscellaneous items strewn in his driveway. He found membership cards, debit cards, a social security card and a concealed weapons permit. The items were processed and the owner was contacted.

Stolen converters

June 30 — Three residents reported their catalytic converters had been stolen with a saw. The three reports were similar. Two were from a Park & Ride and one was from Soundview Drive. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Wanted driver

July 2 — An officer pulled over a driver after the vehicle was clocked going 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. A records check showed that the driver’s license had been suspended, and there was a felony warrant out for the driver’s arrest for harassment. The driver was arrested.

Unwanted guest

July 3 — An officer was dispatched to a local community college when it was reported that a man was sleeping behind the building. When approached by the police, the man was startled and said he was on medication that made him sleepy. The man also said he was just trying to get out of the lightning. He was issued a Trespass Admonishment and driven to an approved area.

Unknown charges

June 30 — A man called deputies when he found $100 charged to his credit card. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Bear killed

June 30 — A deputy was dispatched to a home where a man had shot a bear with a rifle. The officer was assisted by a state department of Fish and Wildlife officer. The bear was shot nine times until it was dead. The bear was estimated to weigh about 400 pounds.

Wash-away boat

June 30 — A man reported his boat had been stolen and washed onto a local beach. The responding deputy saw that the ignition had been punched. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Car prowl

June 30 — A man called deputies when his unlocked vehicle was broken into in his driveway. A total of $514 in cash and a navigation system had been taken. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Reckless driver

July 1 — Two women reported to a deputy that they had been rear-ended, then passed, by a reckless driver. The women followed the driver to get a license plate number. They reported seeing the driver performing other dangerous maneuvers. The case was sent to a prosecutor.

Evading the law

July 1 — A deputy spotted a red sports car driving at a high rate of speed in Lakebay. When the deputy put on his lights, the car accelerated. The deputy lost sight of the vehicle but saw a plume of dust. He followed the dust until he found the vehicle trying to find a parking spot. The deputy issued the driver a reckless driving citation.

Stolen gas

July 4 — A woman called to report gas from her boat had been siphoned. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Slashed tires

July 5 — Numerous Lakebay residents reported their tires had been slashed. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Fireworks abuse

July 6 — A deputy was called when a man reported that a light at the end of his driveway had been destroyed by fireworks. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Party foul

July 6 — A woman reported to deputies that she had gift cards and cash stolen from an unknown guest at her bridal shower. The amount of the stolen gift cards totaled more than $300. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
